Hey! Today I thought I'd do a quick blog post about how to stay organised and motivated.
There's nothing worse than rummaging through your bag, trying to find notes for an exam you have the next day. Or, even worse, forgetting to make any notes and having to revise all the night before.
Some advice:
- Plan ahead. Whether it's planning your outfit before you go to sleep, or preparing for a test, always make sure you have a plan. Having a calendar on your wall with all your your dates on is a life saver. Trust me. My brother once forgot about my mum's birthday, and ordered next day delivery on Moon Pig flowers, then remembered she was on holiday for that weekend, and no body was home. It seems funny now, but imagine how stressed he must have been. If you are prone to forgetting dates or times, set alarms to remind yourself. Save the hassle and plan ahead.
- Write everything down. The best way to stay organised is to write lists. Keep notebooks everywhere. They come in really useful and can be made cheaply. Use them to plan out your day, and what needs to be done. Set realistic goals. If you plan to do a few hours of revision, break it down into slots. Do half an hour when you get home from school, then have a break for Dinner. Do another half an hour, then listen to some music or read a book. It is important to have 'you' time, and not over do it on work. When you've finished all your work, reward yourself and do something you enjoy like watching a movie (or PLL).
- Don't procrastinate I'm guilty. The longer you wait to do something, the more difficult it will be to get done. If you need to practise a presentation, the sooner you start rehearsing, the more confident you will feel with it. If you're in a group, invite them over to your house and go through it together. This way, you can make progress together, and you won't have the worry that nobody else has practised. Getting things out of the way and done earlier can relieve stress and leaves extra time to do what you want.
Have a wonderful bank-holiday! xxx
